Team Aunswera won the US$25,000 Grand prize of Staples Global EcoEasy Challenge 2010

Undergraduate students from the school of Mechanical and Manufacturing under the Engineering at University of New South Wales was the grand prize winner of US$ 25,000 from the inaugural Staples Global EcoEasy Challenge at the United State of America on April 20th, 2010.This international competition aimed to design the next environmentally preferable office product where many universities candidates around the world were participated.

Team Aunswera designed the BIND product which is a multiple purpose product that can be used as a key ring, cable tie and different binding system for different thickness of folder. BIND is simple to manufacture and it is reusable and recyclable.  This sustainable product was developed by considering not only the economic and technical aspects but also the environmental aspect.  Team Aunswera used CATIA programme, developed the prototype and conducted the life cycle assessment of BIND and compared with other traditional product.
