A win-win venture for Yennora and UNSW

Sydney, Australia - 12 Sep 2012

Over the past 6 months Yennora has hosted students from the University of NSW - one in the Hotline and one in the Canstock Department. The students were collecting information and reporting on Energy Flow and Material Flow in both Departments (the same process which was conducted in the Ingot Department last year). Their work has now been completed, and a very informative, professional and much appreciated presentation of their findings was presented by the students to the Yennora Management team recently. According to Yennora’s Engineering Manager, Phil Lester, “The information they presented showed us where the majority of energy is used in both departments, and where there is opportunity for cost saving. “This information will be passed onto other university students to be further developed, to give us more details and improved systems to monitor our energy and material flows. The students have done an excellent job, and the joint venture with the UNSW and ARP is not only giving the students a hands-on experience, but also benefitting our business,” said Phil.
